The HEALing Communities Study will draw upon the Opioid-overdose Reduction Continuum of Care Approach (ORCCA). The ORCCA is designed to guide each community’s system and practice level changes to reduce opioid overdose deaths. It outlines priority populations, three required evidence-based practices (i.e., overdose prevention education and naloxone distribution, medication for opioid use disorder, and prescription opioid safety), and a menu of options for strategies and tactics to pursue those objectives.
